Connect on a deeper level!
Growing up, our family would spend time most every major holiday with our grandparents and cousins. Love of family was instilled in us at a very young age. Our parents would also take us camping and backpacking. We would litereally travel from one state to another most every summer. One summer was spent out in Sunlight basin (Montana). It was incredible! The love of God and nature - experiencing the Creator's love while outdoors or "away" from everyday life was very powerful.
As we got a litle older, we would book a weekend at a Christian camp so that all the extended family could be together. Many family memories spent at this retreat.
My precious Grandma was always talking about the next reunion for our family. We had several that I remember, but she was always looking forward to the next one!
God's heart is clearly seen in relationships - connecting.with Him and with people.
As I became a young adult, involved in full-time ministry with Young Life, I recocnized the need to GET AWAY and unplug, to connect with God and creation, to take a Sabbath rest. I saw many Believers burn out because they didn't get the time away they needed. I committed then to try and make a difference for others in full -time ministry by offering them a place of Yahweh Shammah- Where God would be seen and experienced.
My husband and I have been foster parents for more than two decades. During this season, we have included these children on our various adventures- family vacations and trips both near and far. Foster parents and their kids need a place of Retreat also.
Currently, as a middle aged adult, I have collaborated with other woment to facilitate retreats which allow time away with Jesus, away from our typical home life, in nature. I have been blessed to be entrusted with this ministry, and it is growing, by God's grace. In the current climate and culture, it is ever more important for God's people to spend time with Him.
We now have adult children of our own, and desire a place for them to "come away" with God and family. We would like to have the property and amenities to host small and large gatherings of people so that they can experience YAHWEH SHAMMAH, the Lord is there.
Will you consider a tax-deductible gift through the Lampstand Project to fund this endeavor? If you have questions, or know of a donor who would like to gift the ministry with property/ land, please be in touch.
To God be the Glory! May you be blessed in Jesus' name- Colleen
John 10:10
"The thief comes to steal kill and destroy- but I (Jesus speaking) have come that you might have life, and life abundantly."
As a child, I believed that being a Christian was all about what I did and didn't do. As a teen, I was privileged to get involved with Young Life ministries, (an outreach for teens that shows them hope throuugh a relationship with Christ) and I then understood that Christianity is about a relationship with Jesus. This is only made possible through the death, burial and resurrections of Christ, who made a way to God for us.
I believe that Jesus is relevant to all people, in all situations, in all generations. My passion is for people to be positioned to hear this Good News!
I believe the Holy Spirit is active in a Believer's life, and (if allowed) witl bring health, healing, truth, grace (see gifts and fruit of the Spirit for more context) from the book of I Corinthians, chapter 12. These are available to each person who lives their life in submision to God.
I believe that this LIFE ABUNDANTLY - what Jesus gives-is what God desires for all Believers to walk in on this life's journey.
My husband and I formed the Lampstand Project to help fund ministries that the Lord has called us to partner with. This non-profit is used to support some of the other Christian communities we are involved in.
Current connections : Local Bible study, Conduit (our local church) missions, Restore Haiti, YV foster care, annual retreats, worship ministry, Young Life, and other ministires are currently supported through the Lampstand Project.
If you would like to speak to one of us about partnering with the ministry, please reach out. If you have a need, and want prayer and encouragement, we are available.
The word Holy means to be set apart. “You shall be holy to me, for I the Lord am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.” Hebrews 11:1-40We cannot make ourselves perfect and blameless, but we can choose to be ‘set apart for God.’That is something that is challenging in our culture. That is why I’ve treasured the times that our Bible Study group led by the leaders of Yahweh Shammah, have found a place to go for retreat every summer. It’s always a refreshing, renewing experience with the Lord and our relationships. It will be wonderful when this vision of our own place of retreat becomes reality as the Lord leads and guides us to the right place. THANKYOU Lord! (Victoria Lovett, February 2022)
